Great Divide Brewery & Roadhouse Reviews
This was my first time at Great Divide. The brewery is huge with lots of seating and it's a cute little space! The staff were friendly, we joined for Happy Hour. We decided to keep it light and just get appetizers & drinks. We got the fried pickles with the chili ranch, the ranch was the star of the show. We also got pretzels and queso - the pretzels were super soft and the queso was really flavorful. Now to the fun part! We got the beer flight, which is five beers for $15! We ordered the Japanese Lager, Tangerine IPA, Strawberry Rhubarb, Mango Seltzer, and an English beer. Hands down, my favorites the Tangerine IPA with the Mango seltzer in second. This is a great spot to have a get together or even grab a quick drink. I will be back.
The ambiance is terrific. The beer of course, is excellent. But besides beer, the vegan options here are very limited. I ordered the chips, salsa, and guac starter with no cheese. The guacamole was bland...a little salt would have helped. The portion was huge, but sadly, it wasn't tasty enough to finish. My pint of Titan IPA saved the day!
Decent dine in or takeout spot in Castle Rock, though overall I would say I expected a bit more for the price. To be fair, maybe we caught them on an off night, so we will try again! First, the deviled eggs are great, though we had 5 of them so if it's just two of you, prepare to duel for the last egg. The prime rib French dip was pretty good, though I don't recommend for takeout unless you're eating quickly because the bread can get a bit hard. We felt there could have been more au jus. But overall, good and would recommend for dine in. We both loved the homemade chips! I have mixed feelings on the short rib enchiladas.. the meat inside was phenomenal, moist, well seasoned. However, the jalapeño cream sauce was a bit lumpy and tasted much like sour cream and onion dip. And I didn't get the honey drizzle, so I couldn't make a judgement on the full dish at its best. I wouldn't mind the price, but all things considered, the price seemed high considering my final thoughts on the meal. Overall, I'll try again at some point, either dine-in or I will try a few different dishes.
I've been to the other Great Divide locations on previous visits to Colorado and was excited to see a new location in Castle Rock. I happened to be staying there so I had to make a visit. The building is quite large. They have a super nice outdoor patio area with lots of seating, plants, and even misters. There's a trail nearby so it would be a perfect place to stop off at and have a beer. Inside is large and very pretty. Again, lots of plants and it has a modern feel without being devoid of personality. The bar is very big and wraps around. The kitchen is pretty open so you can see what's going on. There's booths and tables. Basically, everything is covered. The service was top notch. They have a wide selection of their beers. But they also have cocktails and wine. I'm a huge fan of their Yeti beers and I like the try the variants too. On this visit, I ordered the Mexican Hot chocolate yeti. I've had it before so it wasn't new to me but I had to get it fresh from the tap since normally we just see it in cans in KC. You can also get a flight to try a variety of their beers. The strawberry rhubarb is another favorite of mine. The food was outstanding. It was one of my favorite meals when we were visiting. I ordered the Peach Habanero Chicken Sandwich: Grilled chicken breast, goat cheese, arugula, peach habanero sauce, garlic aioli, brioche bun. This sandwich was so good! The peach habanero sauce was quite hot but the flavor was fantastic. The heat level definitely was less when it was mixed with the goat cheese but no less addictive. I definitely recommend. For a side I went with the Asian Brussel Sprouts: Sweet & spicy sesame, goat cheese. I also really enjoyed these. There were so many flavors going on and I liked the combo with the goat cheese. Again, I would recommend. My boyfriend ordered the Short Rib Burrito: Flour tortilla, braised beef short rib, scrambled eggs, hash browns, caramelized onions, shredded Cheddar, pico de gallo, lime crema, pork green chili. He thought it was really good and demolished it. He named the pork green chili and the queso sauce for a special shout out. We will definitely return to this spot!
My friends and I came here for a birthday celebration, and had the best time (we may have been a little loud). The music was fun, the covered patio we sat on was really cozy and comfortable. We ordered family style and shared a bunch of different items, all were fantastic! The drinks came out quick and were delicious, the host was very kind on arrival, manager did a table touch and was also very nice! Our server, Grace was fantastic! If you see this, Grace we appreciate you! You guys were really busy, and she managed her section extremely well!
